The active substance in this medicine is Sildenafil. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It is also used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. This medicine is manufactured by Pfizer. It is available in the quantity of 25 mg and 50 mg tablets. The generic name of the medicine is Viagra.
Sildenafil is used to treat male erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension. It works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis.
Sildenafil is also used in pulmonary arterial hypertension treatment. It works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the lungs.
How does this medicine work?
Sildenafil helps to improve erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis. Sildenafil works by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). PDE5 is a type of enzyme which is responsible for breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the smooth muscle cells of the blood vessels. cGMP is important for the relaxation of smooth muscle cells and it can cause dilatation in blood vessels.
Sildenafil is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.
The Food and Drug Administration has seized more than 2,000 shipments of counterfeit Viagra from a joint venture with GlaxoSmithKline. The two businesses, which are based in China and India, were purchased by the FDA in a raid on July 28. The counterfeit pills were distributed by a reputable online pharmacy. The drugs were then sold to consumers in the US.
“We were interested in this potential global opportunity to take action against counterfeit drugs and other drugs that could have potentially harmful or even fatal consequences,” said Paul M. L. Leach, Ph. D., the FDA’s deputy director of international enforcement.
The FDA has seized approximately 1,000 shipments of counterfeit Viagra. A few of these pills were shipped in single-serving packages. The FDA has identified more than 100 counterfeit versions of Viagra, ranging from blue to black, but not in color, and is notifying consumers of the drugs’ contents. Pfizer has purchased over 600 of the counterfeit versions of Viagra, including the blue pills, and the black tablets. The FDA is investigating whether the pills are being distributed to consumers in the US.
Viagra is a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, which can help men who have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection to have a satisfactory sexual experience. Viagra is also a “generic” drug. It is available as a 50 mg tablet, a 25 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, and 300 mg tablet, and is sold in generic form. Generic Viagra, marketed by Pfizer, is the generic version of Viagra.
Pfizer, the maker of Viagra, is developing a generic version of Viagra that is more affordable. It is a step toward achieving a lower cost for consumers.
“We are actively involved with the ongoing development and testing of a new class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors,” said Richard M. Dworkin, Ph. D., president of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. “We expect to have more successful drug development against the PDE5 inhibitors.”
The FDA has also seized more than 100 shipments of counterfeit Viagra. These shipments were made in India and China and were purchased by the FDA in a raid on July 28.
“FDA continues to work hard to protect consumers from potentially dangerous pharmaceuticals that could have potentially harmful or even fatal consequences,” said Richard D. Rosen, Ph. D., director of the FDA’s Office of Generic Drugs. “FDA continues to work closely with pharmaceutical companies to ensure that consumers are informed of the dangers associated with these drugs and to work together to provide them with the information needed to make informed decisions about their safety and the appropriate treatment.”
“This joint effort with the FDA is an important step toward protecting our citizens from potentially dangerous pharmaceuticals that could have potentially deadly consequences,” said Robert A. Duchaine, Ph. D., director of the FDA’s Office of the Inspector General. “We are actively involved with developing a new class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. We have seen positive results from these compounds in clinical trials, with clinical trials showing that these medications are able to provide men with erectile dysfunction with a low risk of serious adverse events such as priapism.”
Pharmaceutical companies and the FDA are conducting several studies to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new and existing PDE5 inhibitors.
“The results of these studies will help protect consumers from potentially dangerous pharmaceuticals that could have potentially deadly consequences,” said Richard D. “Pharmaceutical companies and the FDA are actively working together to ensure that consumers are informed of the dangers associated with these drugs and to work together to provide them with the information needed to make informed decisions about their safety and the appropriate treatment.”
“We’re excited to work with our partners in the U. S.,” said David J. Buse, Ph. D., director of the FDA’s Office of Drug Safety.
Chloramphenicol
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of chloramphenicol will increase the effect of Sildenafil by affecting the patient hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.
Isosorbide dinitrate
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug either increases the effects of the other by vasodilation which leads to fatal hypotension.
Nitroprusside sodium
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug either increases the effects of the others by pharmacodynamic synergism.
Enzalutamide
Use alternative drugs because the use of enzalutamide will decrease the effect of Sildenafil by affecting patient hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.
Acetazolamide
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Sildenafil increases the effect of acetazolamide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of hypotension.
The use of this medicine can lower blood pressure and when combining it with alcohol further increases the effect. You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, flushing, headache, and heart palpitation. Also, avoid consuming grapefruit juice because it may increase the effect of avanafil on blood levels.
Cardiovascular disease:
The use of phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme inhibitors is contraindicated in patients with cardiovascular disease. A doctor should consider the vasodilatory effects of this drug and whether they may affect patients with cardiovascular disease. The use of this drug may increase the risk of angina pectoris, AV block, myocardial infarction, ventricular arrhythmia, tachycardia, palpitation, hypotension, postural hypotension, syncope, cerebral thrombosis, cerebrovascular hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and hypertension. These events can occur during or after sexual activity.
Renal dysfunction:
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with severe renal disease or on renal dialysis. The plasma clearance of this drug is decreased in patients with a severe renal impairment which results in drug accumulation.
Liver diseases:
The use of this drug is not recommended for patients with severe hepatic impairment because the pharmacokinetic disposition of this drug has not been assessed in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Addictive (e.g.ademic support)The FDA has not approved the use of phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme inhibitors in patients with cardiovascular disease. Therefore, this drug will not have any effect on patients with cardiovascular disease. The use of this drug is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment or with the potential for the effects on patients with severe renal disease and the effects on patients with the potential for the use of this drug are not being studied.
Interaction (cha)≥ 4: Viagra 100mg Tablet: Combining this drug with phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme inhibitors may increase the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke.≥ 4: Viagra 100mg Tablet: Combining this drug and phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme inhibitor may increase the risk of hypotension and may decrease the effect of nitrates.</pUnknownitchyness is a very common side effect associated with Viagra 100mg Tablet.
